According to Jeremy Parsons, CEO of the Iowa State Fair, many couples had "their first smooch" while riding in a simple wooden boat lazily floating through the water maze of Ye Olde Mill on the state fairgrounds. Might that have been you?

Jeremy enthusiastically time travels with North Dakota's The Pfeiffer Sisters about the inception of the Iowa State Fair to present day with stops in between, especially noting the fair's "feel" in the 1950s.

Inspirational "Warm Fuzzies" glow brightly as Jeremy recalls family traditions of overnight tent camping on the grounds, Mom's homemade fried chicken and potato salad lunches ("and no one got sick"), and "the way it was back then" livestock transportation by rail for exhibition at the fair.
